Brand Guidelines

SessionSpark

How the brand looks, sounds, and feels. A short, practical guide so everything we make stays unmistakably ours.

Version 1.0 · Prepared by SessionSpark

01 The essence

Calm, grounded, quietly confident

SessionSpark helps Canadian therapists show up online in a way that feels like them. The brand should feel warm and editorial, never loud or clinical. Think boutique studio, not software company.

Personality

Warm, human, unhurried.

Thoughtful and intentional, never flashy.

Confident enough to keep things simple.

We are

A real person, not a platform.

Editorial and tactile, not corporate.

Grounded in natural materials and light.

02 Voice & tone

Say it plainly, and warmly

Second person, short sentences, no jargon and no hype. Name the real thing gently. And a hard rule: no em dashes, use commas or periods.

We say

Yes: A website that sounds like you.

Yes: You never touch the tech.

Yes: Warm, clear, and easy to read.

We avoid

Revolutionary, cutting-edge, one-stop-shop.

Do you struggle with X? You are in the right place.

Exclamation marks and pressure.

03 Logo

The wordmark and the spark

A Newsreader serif wordmark with a four-point spark set up and to the right. Give it room, keep it in brand colours, and never redraw it.

04 Colour

Warm neutrals, one clay accent

Oat and sand carry most of the surface. Forest anchors the dramatic moments. Clay is the single accent, used sparingly. Charcoal is for text.

Rough usage balance. Let neutrals dominate; clay should feel like a highlight, not a field.

05 Typography

An editorial serif, a humanist sans

Newsreader sets the headlines and numerals with quiet character. Work Sans handles body and labels, clean and legible. One or two words per headline may sit in italic for emphasis.

06 Imagery

Candid, natural, tactile

Real, naturally-lit photography with warmth and texture: linen, plants, wood, soft light. People at ease, not posed. Nature and material close-ups for atmosphere.

A calm, plant-filled workspace with warm natural light Close-up of tropical leaves, natural texture A person relaxed on a sofa, working on a laptop

Do

  • Use natural light and real spaces
  • Favour linen, plants, wood, stone, paper
  • Let images breathe with generous crops
  • Keep a warm, slightly desaturated tone

Don't

  • Use glossy corporate stock or fake smiles
  • Add heavy filters, neon, or bright gradients
  • Crowd images edge to edge with text
  • Mix cool, clinical blues into the palette

07 In use

How it comes together

A few quick applications. Notice the restraint: lots of space, hairline details, one accent, and the wordmark given room.
